Job Description
The Hotel General Manager is responsible for continually focusing on hotel culture, marketing, sales, product positioning, hotel profitability, cost control, guest satisfaction and team member development. You will oversee all aspects of hotel operations including:
guest relations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances, franchise/brand compliance, team building, revenue management and staff development.
o Create and maintain a strong leadership presence within the property, tour all departments daily, provide coaching and make adjustments as needed via property team leaders.
o Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions. Communicate early and often. Drive results. Expect Excellence. Mentor the team. Encourage and require other team leaders to prioritize guest experience and positively influence others.
o Willingness to work in all hotel departments, cover shifts as needed accept after emergency hour calls.
o Review and approve all accounts payable and property contracts.
o Meet all report submission deadlines. Attend and contribute to monthly P&L and forecasting/budget review meetings. Hold a monthly financial review meeting with all team leaders.
o Direct team leaders to meet or exceed performance requirements and standards.
o Ensure compliance with brand, local, state and federal requirements.
o Execute and refine the marketing and financial plan for the hotel. Aggressively manage revenue and all components:
data collection, rate pricing and channel distribution.
o Adhere to all established policies & procedures; ensure that all team leaders are compliant with policies and processes.
o Ensure that the property meets and exceeds all established standards for cleanliness, guest services, financial performance, and human capital management. Resolve guest issues in a timely, effective and professional manner.
o Recruit, build, develop, and performance manage a superior team.
o Contribute to sister property management challenges as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will need to embrace leadership, team development, and continuous improvement as critical success factors for this role.
o Two years of current General Manager experience required in a limited service franchised hotel.
o Proven track record in consistently achieving high guest service ratings.
o Proven track record of meeting or exceeding Revenue and Expense budgets.
o Strong Sales leadership experience desired.
o Proficient in Revenue Management, problem solving and strategic assessment.
o Experience with a national franchise property and reservation management system; familiarity with Choice Hotel preferred.
o Must enjoy a multi-tasking environment 7 days a week 24 hours a day.
o Must have excellent communication, time management and leadership skills.
o Must have above average aptitude with computer automation and experience utilizing MS Word and MS Excel.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
