Summary of essential job functions Responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of the organization's operations.
Create strategic plan and annual budget for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with board of directors at an annual planning meeting, and executing monthly strategic planning meetings to track success.
Responsible for taking care of the employees of the EOD Warrior Foundation.
Build and lead an effective team that's dedicated to fulfilling the organization's mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising.
Meet aggressive annual fundraising goals, in partnership with Board of Directors, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and fundraising events.
Responsible for taking care of EOD Warriors, their families, donors, vendors, and other nonprofit service providers and ensuring our services are delivered in accordance with the EOD Warrior Foundation Way.
Responsible for responding to customer concerns and complaints in a proactive and responsive manner.
Provide career coaching, growth, and personal development for employees.
This includes performance management, appropriate reward and recognition, recruiting and retention, discipline, and hiring / firing actions.
Work with staff and board on annual EOD Weekend events and additional events; oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media efforts of the EOD Warrior Foundation.
Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs.
Responsible for the cleanliness, neatness, and safety of the facilities.
Minimum requirements The Executive Director will have an education and professional background commensurate with this leadership position.
The Director will typically be degreed at the Masters level or equivalent.
A leader in this position will also have 5 - 10 years (plus) experience leading nonprofit programs.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the Executive Director is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear.
The position requires extensive computer use so the employee must have sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel The Executive Director must be able to travel to attend conferences, training, and other events as required to acquire and maintain proficiency in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.
This position should be prepared for 50% travel.
Work Environment The work environment will be in Niceville, FL in an office and other locations for meetings as required by the opportunities and events for the organization.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
